DeLa Dos is the senior director, Learning + DEI for ARL. In this role, DeLa is responsible for leading the Association’s Learning Network and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. The joint-coordination of these efforts provides cohesion across ARL learning-program curricula and reinforces the Association’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its programs. DeLa has over 15 years of experience working in higher education and nonprofit settings. Prior to joining ARL, DeLa served as a consultant with a nonprofit, DEI consulting firm as well as a higher education administrator responsible for social justice education and multicultural affairs departments. In these roles, DeLa developed a nationally recognized educational framework used to engage thousands of learners in meaningful exploration of numerous topics, including diversity, inclusion, bias, privilege, oppression, humility, and allyship; they also developed and managed a nationally recognized educational program that explored intersectionality, leadership, and community organizing. Additionally, they were an instructor and an adjunct faculty member for multiple undergraduate and graduate programs. DeLa holds a PhD in counselor education and supervision with a cognate in educational leadership as well as an MS in community counseling from Mercer University. They earned their BA from Emory University with majors in dance & movement studies and religion with a minor in sociology.
