THIS SESSION REQUIRED RESERVATION DURING REGISTRATION.
Decisions are an unavoidable as well as essential part of daily life. By some measures, each person makes upwards of 35,000 decisions per day (CNN, 2022). In an organizational context, decision making plays an important role in supporting—or inhibiting—numerous things including operational excellence, organizational success, and experiences of stakeholder belonging. This session aims to equip attendees with skills to systematically integrate DEI in organizational settings by considering decision making in a sustainable, adaptable manner that is responsive to acute needs as well as broader visions and aspirations. It aims to provide deeper understanding and awareness of the interconnected nature of individual decisions as well as the implications of their interactions. Using a variety of interactive modalities—including large & small group discussions, pair-work, and individual reflections & action planning—the presenters will share conceptual frames and considerations before guiding participants through a series of meaning making activities; the session will conclude with the opportunity for participants to identify needs and opportunities within their specific organizational context to translate, adapt, and apply session content.
