We've gathered some information about navigating the city, where to visit, and
what events are happening during your stay in Portland. 

 GETTING TO THE HILTON PORTLAND DOWNTOWN 

Portland International Airport (PDX)

PDX is currently served by more than 15 international and domestic airlines offering about 500 scheduled passenger arrivals and departures daily. More than 60 U.S. cities offer nonstop flights to Portland, including Atlanta, Orlando, New York, Boston and Chicago. Travelers named Portland International Airport (PDX) the best airport in the United States in Travel + Leisure’s survey in 2021, as well as every year from 2013–2019. 

TAKE NOTE: The airport is undergoing renovations that won’t be fully completed until 2025. See the FlyPDX website for more information, you may encounter modified routes and construction in progress.

Drive Time: To or from downtown Portland and Portland International Airport allow 30–45 minutes. The Hilton Hotel is approximately 10 miles from PDX.

TriMet MAX Light Rail
At the heart of Portland’s world-class public transportation system is the Metropolitan Area Express (MAX) Light Rail, with almost 100 stations and 60 miles (96.6 km) of track connecting the city, airport and region. The Red Line services PDX, and trains depart every 15 minutes, learn more. The Red Line drops off at Pioneer Square, two blocks from the hotel.

As of January 2024, fares to ride the MAX Light Rail are as follows:

  • Adult (ages 18–64): $2.80 to ride for 2.5 hours; $5.60 for a day pass
  • Honored Citizen (ages 65 years and older; low income, Medicare or disability): $1.40 to ride for 2.5 hours; $2.80 for a day pass
  • Youth (ages 7–17): $1.40 to ride for 2.5 hours; $2.80 for a day pass
