IDEAL 2024 CONTENT TRACKS
The IDEAL Conference offers ten session tracks by content area. Attendees should treat tracks as suggestions and can hop from track to track and choose your own adventure as you navigate different sessions. Tracks are complementary and in many ways sessions may cross multiple tracks.
Accessibility
Includes sessions specific to universal design for learning, physical dis/abilities, and neuro-diversity in the library field.
Antioppression
Focuses on challenging, resisting, and disrupting systems that create and perpetuate inequities, and focuses on re-envisioning and recreating those systems to redistribute power.
Archives
Explores diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility and justice (DEIAJ) through building, diversifying, and preservation in archival practices.
Centering Marginalized Experiences
Focuses on uplifting the experiences, perspectives, and voices of members of marginalized communities (e.g., IBPOC, queer) within the context and landscape of the library field.
Collections
Explores DEIAJ through a lens of collections specific to collection work, OER’s, and special collections.
Community
Centers on intentionally building partnerships with relevant stakeholders and collective knowledge making between community members and libraries.
Data Management
Explores DEIAJ through a data collection and administration lens.
Leadership
Designed for leaders at every level to hone their management and governance skills through the lens of DEIAJ.
Strategic Planning and Policymaking
Focuses on strategically embedding DEIAJ practices into the daily operations of libraries and archives through high level planning and documentation.
Sustainable Practices
Offers sessions centered on workplace sustainability specific to employee retention, engagement, and DEIAJ practices.
