This meeting, and all of its functions, will be offered in an in-person format only. It is expected that the member representative will register their attendance (accept/decline) and represent the member library, except in unusual circumstances. If the member representative must send an alternate representative, the alternate must register as a member proxy and complete this registration.

Building on the Spring Meeting’s attention to the evolution of information work, with a sharper focus on how emerging issues are impacting our organizations’ and professional identities, ARL member representatives and invited guests will engage with policy experts, leaders, scholars, and innovators to explore emerging issues around AI legislation, privacy, and access, and how these factors will impact our work. 

We will discuss how we perceive ourselves and our profession in the context of an ever-evolving information landscape, and how these perceptions impact our ideas of self and how we work together. We will learn about and reflect on current external disruptions to information work, and how we can think about belonging, cultural issues, morale, and inclusion in the face of these perceived existential shifts. Participants will discuss these transformations and the related opportunities and challenges they pose for our institutions and for our collective work as an Association.
