Ashley Sands is a Senior Library Program Officer at the Institute of Museum and Library Services, where she manages a portfolio of grants and funding opportunities related to scholarly communication, research data management, digital infrastructures, open science, and more. Dr. Sands earned her MLIS and PhD in Information Studies from UCLA. Her dissertation studies employed social science research methods to examine astronomy data management practices to reveal the infrastructures and expertise most appropriate for maximizing the utility of scientific data.
