Jen-chien (Jen) Yu is the Director of Library Assessment at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She coordinates library assessment programs and works closely with faculty and staff across the Library, and around the Urbana-Champaign campus, to design and implement assessment activities that support data-informed decision making related to library services, collections, technology, and facilities. Before joining the Urbana-Champaign campus, she was the Electronic Information Services Librarian/Data Specialist and Assessment Librarian at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio (2001-2012).

In addition to her work at the University Library, Jen is a co-facilitator of the Big Ten Academic Alliance Library Assessment professional group. Jen's career goal is to lead transformative change informed by data and evidence that can strengthen the organization, the people within it, and the communities we serve. She also has a deep personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, which has been a key principle guiding her career.
