Speaker Bio
Karin's work centers on applying data science methods to get a deeper understanding of library services. She supports the data warehouse MetriDoc, which compiles data from a number of library-wide services. Karin is also involved in exploratory analyses to investigate and develop new services.
At Penn Libraries, before becoming the Library Business Intelligence Architect for the Impact Assessment and Organizational Analysis Division, Karin was the 2020 Bollinger Fellow.
Karin graduated from St. Olaf College with a double major in Physics and Mathematics and from Stony Brook University with a PhD in High Energy Physics. Before moving to the library sphere, she completed two postdoctoral fellowships at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.
