Jax Cato is a Collections & Content Strategies Librarian at Western Libraries. Each collections librarian at Western provides oversight for the collection development of one or more faculty, with Jax having responsibility for the faculty of Law. Jax is also the Licensing Librarian at Western, she negotiates, manages, and maintains all Western Library’s resource licenses. Jax’s current research interests include investigating how / if library schools are actively recruiting students from racialized communities to ensure diversity among Canadian librarianship, collaborative collecting at the consortial level, and the development of community-built collections.
