Speaker Bio
I am the Acting Head, Health Sciences Division at the University of Manitoba, where I also serve as liaison to the College of Pharmacy. In these role I work closely with faculty, researchers, and students throughout the health sciences and deliver specialized research and reference assistance, train students on information literacy and critical appraisal skills, and provide access to high-quality collections. My research interests are mostly related to knowledge synthesis – whether it is tracking changes in librarian involvement and authorship in KS, documenting the growth of KS in non-health disciplines, the issue of authorship and attribution for KS, or contributing as a team member to KS projects. I am also interested in the role that sex and gender can play in librarian and LIS scholarship practices. I am active within health librarianship and have served on the executive of the Canadian Health Library Association, the Manitoba Library Association, and the Manitoba Association of Health Information Providers.
