Nneka Chisholm, MBA, (she/her) holds the prestigious role of being the inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion officer for the University of Maryland, College Park libraries. Concurrently, she is actively pursuing a doctoral degree in the Language, Literacy, and Culture department at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Ms. Chisholm's academic research is centered on examining the social positioning and autonomy of Black women, specifically delving into the intersection of sexuality, media, and public policy. In her professional capacity within the libraries, Ms. Chisholm strives to leverage her educational research as a foundation to address and challenge practices that adversely affect minoritized populations within the libraries’ faculty, staff, students and patrons. Her goal is to foster a culture of inclusivity and compassion while contributing to the university's commitment to social justice.
