Speaker Bio
Naz Torabi is the Collections Coordinator for Sciences at the University of Toronto Libraries, where she coordinates collection development activities, including devising and implementing collection development best practices, priorities, and assessment projects across tri-campus. With a background in molecular biology and information science, she has a deep understanding of the information needs of students and researchers in life sciences. Her career in library and information services has been marked by diverse roles, including serving as a health science librarian at large academic libraries, a solo librarian at a community hospital, and an information specialist in a large hospital library network. She is also the 2022–23 ARL Leadership and Career Development Program (LCDP) Fellow. She is passionate about exploring approaches for integrating equity, diversity, inclusion, and social justice lens into the collection development life cycle.
