Eric Glenn, Virginia Tech's Director of Belonging, Engagement, and Organization Development for University Libraries and VP of the Black Caucus, began his journey with an athletic scholarship at King University, majoring in Neuroscience. Initially focused on research, he eventually found his passion for DEI in research at VTTI, progressing from part-time to faculty. Eric pioneered inclusivity at VTTI, initiating engagement surveys, forming a DEI committee, and creating affinity groups. His commitment extended to earning DEI certificates from Cornell and Virginia Tech, along with counseling skills from the Counselor Education program. A sought-after speaker, he shares insights on empathy and resilience, drawing from his experiences as a first-gen graduate and student-athlete. In his current role, Eric coordinates the Resident Librarian program, oversees DEI operations, and influences recruitment. Committed to progressive organizational development, he implements innovative changes to leadership structures at VT University Libraries. Recognizing diverse career paths, Eric strives to foster belonging for all Virginia Tech community members, emphasizing their well-being and resources.
