Description

THIS TOUR REQUIRED RESERVATION DURING REGISTRATION.

Location: York University

Description: The focus of this tour will be on inclusivity policies, design to remove access barriers, and equity. As part of the Digital Scholarship Centre at York University Libraries, the Media Creation Lab provides equitable access to space, equipment and resources for York University students, staff and faculty who are creating multimedia as part of learning, research, or teaching. The lab centers equity and safety in its approach to removing access barriers and encouraging students’ engagement in media creation work. The tour will showcase how these aspects inform the design and service model for our video, audio, and VR creation spaces and the equipment that we loan. Students, staff, and faculty from all attending institutions are welcome!

Date/Time: July 18th. There are two time periods for tours, please make sure to check which time you signed up for before traveling. The tour times are:

  • 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
  • 1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.

Transportation: Approximately 45 minutes one way; Take subway Line 1 (yellow) towards Vaughan ($3.35 each way) and get off at York University station.
