Land acknowledgments have become common in academic library settings in recent years. They are used before public events, individuals put them in their email signatures, or they are added to the official website. It is often noted that words are not enough within the statements themselves, but what actions are encouraged or taken by libraries that use these statements? In this session, people can share how their libraries have taken action beyond words. Through storytelling, we will explore some real-life examples of how academic libraries have contributed to their local tribal communities or the indigenous students, faculty, and staff within their institution. In addition, we will examine some approaches to centering indigeneity in the work of academic libraries.
